Senior Championship
On Saturday evening the senior team took on Bornacoola in the Championship Quarter Final and came away with a win by the narrowest of margins.

As far as the Gaels team and supporters are concerned the first twenty eight minutes of this game are best forgotten. In the first few minutes Bornacoola scored 1-2 and looked totally in control. The Gaels got the next two scores in the dying minutes of the half and went in at the break three points down. The Gaels were better in the second half and they needed to be. They had a spell where they played some great football and scored six unanswered points. In the end they finished a point ahead. They are now in the Semi-Final and this is a great achievement, but there is a lot of room for improvement on this display.

Well done to all.

The Championship
The senior team took on Carrigallen on Saturday evening in Drumshanbo and booked their place in the Senior Championship Quarter-Final with a comfortable win . This was a great display of good football and some great scores. The Gaels never looked in trouble and now await the draw in the Quarter Final. Congratulations and well donen to all the players and mentors.

The second team took on Ballinaglera also in Drumshanbo after the senior game. Although they played well, they conceded two soft goals and were always in trouble. They worked hard but were unable to get the scores they needed. Ballinaglera finished strong and deserved their victory.

A Good Weekend
The Senior team had a great win over a good Mohill team in Ballinamore on Saturday evening last. They got off to a good start but Mohill came back and levelled. A Gaels penalty ensured they lead by a goal at the break, 1-08 to 0-08.

They controlled the second half and were worthy winners on a scoreline of 2-12 to 1-11.

On Sunday the second team took on Aughnasheelin in the Intermediate Championship and secured a good win on a scoreline of 3-6 to 0-11.

It was also good to see Colin Regan back playing Championship football after his serious injury. He made a very good contribution in the win over Aughnasheelin in Drumkeerin.

Well done to all concerned.

Games next Weekend
There are two games on Saturday evening in Drumshanbo when the Seniors take on Carrigallen in the last round game of the Senior Championship at 5.30pm and the Second team take on Ballinaglera at 7pm in the Intermediate Championship.

Good Luck to all.
