0A Great Evening in Ballinamore
The Gaels had a great win over a very determined Gortletteragh team in Ballinamore on Saturday evening. The scoreline suggests that this was an easy win for the Gaels but for the large Melvin Gaels support it was a very nervous time, especially in the first half.
Gortletteragh were the better team in the first half and only for some great scores by ‘Man of the Match’ Emlyn Mulligan and a fantastic save by Jesse McGuinness the margin could have been much greater than a single point. After a nervous start to the second half the Gaels dominated the game and finished comfortable winners. There were jubilant scenes at the end of the game.
Thanks for the great support at the game and the great reception when the team arrived back in Kinlough.
Well done to each and every one of the Intermediate panel who put so much hard work into ensuring that the Gaels return to the Senior Championship in 2012.
Congratulations to Billy and Brian on doing such a great job.
Thanks to everyone who helped in any way.
Anyone wanting photographs, which were taken at the game, should contact Claudio in the Dartry Centre.

0Juniors Through to Final
The Juniors defeated Annaduff on Saturday evening in Drumshanbo to reach the Junior A Championship Final.
This was a hard fought entertaining game played in difficult conditions. The Gaels got off to a slow start but got their act together thanks to some great place kicking from young Peter McGowan who was one of the star players on the day and a Fergal Gallagher goal. Annaduff staged a great comeback when playing with the wind behind them in the second half. A great goal from Declan Roper and a last minute penalty from Peter McGowan secured a deserved five point victory for the Gaels.
This was again a great team performance from the Gaels and they now join the first team in making a county final this season.
Well done to Peter, Dessie, John and all the lads.
Senior League Game v Carrigallen
The first team had a comfortable league win over Carrigallen in a game which was played in Bundoran on Sunday because Melvin Park was not playable.
The storm force winds and driving rain made playing good football difficult but both sides produced decent patches of football. The Gaels seemed to cope better playing against the wind and finished with another good win.
Well done to all.
