Club Notes 28th December 2003

Senior A.G.M.

Don’t forget the Senior AGM takes place next Sunday at 5pm. A good attendance of all club members is requested.

Anyone interested in getting involved with the club is asked to come along to the Community Centre for the A.G.M.

Bord na Nog

Melvin Gaels Bord na Nog held their AGM on Sunday evening.

The following have been elected officers for 2004 :

Chairperson Patricia Hill (outgoing) , Secretary, Stephen Connolly, Treasurer , Peter Sheridan( assisted by Patsy Mc Govern).

New managers were elected for all the underage teams .

While no trophies were brought back to Kinlough in 2003 by any of the underage teams, it is felt that the potential for winning in 2004 is very evident.

Good luck to all the newly elected officers in 2004.

The Year Gone By

For the Seniors in 2003 it was a year that began well , went down very low in the middle , but ended on a high.

The League began so well with the seniors winning the first three games of the year, before going down to Mohill..

Overall the team did well in the league reaching a semi final play off with Mohill, losing for a second time.

In the Championship, it was disappointing to lose a play off , for a quarter final place, against Fenagh.

No doubt injuries and suspensions made it very difficult for the seniors in 2003.

The juniors had good and bad year also. They were beaten by Allen Gaels in the Championship final but gained some revenge when they recently beat Allen Gaels to win the Division 4 League final.

The Under 21 side won the B Championship and this was the first time an Under 21 title came to Kinlough.

It has to be said that when any club can bring home two trophies in any year it must be considered a very successful one.

Well done to all the people who have put in such effort to bring this success to the club.

The people in charge of the teams were, Padraig Rooney, Barbour Regan, Dessie Sheridan , Terry Tiffoney and Gareth Phelan. Well done to all concerned.
