Club Notes 14th March 2005
Junior Game V Kiltubrid
On Saturday evening last the Junior team took on Kiltubrid in Melvin Park.
Melvin Gaels finished second best on a final Score of Kiltubrid 3-10 Melvin Gaels 2-8.Melvin Gaels started well in this game and went ahead at one stage in the first half by five points. This was the first game of the year and the superior fitness of the Kiltubrid team proved the difference in the end. It was a very entertaining game and had a lot of good scores.
The Melvin Gaels team was : Michael Mc Gowan, Matthew Mc Gloin, Fergal Mc Gowan, Dermot Clancy, Larry Maxwell, Shane Mc Carron, Paul Mc Gowan, Peter Mc Gloin, Damien Sheridan, Joe Mc Gowan, Blaine Mulligan, Fergal Gallagher, Simon Foley, Gerry Mc Gurran and Liam Gilmartin. Sub: Seamus Gallagher
There was some good football played by Melvin Gaels but we do need some more of the younger players to turn out. This is a great way for players who are not regulars on the senior team to get some very good football experience.

Lotto
The numbers drawn in the Lotto Draw held in the Village Inn last Sunday night were – 2,10,11 and 21. There was no Jackpot winner.
Other winners were €40 James Mc Gowan, Laughta, Kinlough, €20 each- Jimmy Earley, Monien, Kinlough and Yvonne Mc Gloin, Drummons, Glenade.
Next Draw in The Dew Drop Inn Tullaghan on Sunday March 27.

Under 10 Training
Under 10 training will start on every Saturday morning at 10.30am. All players must have registration Forms filled up and pay €10 Club Membership for the year.
Under 16 Game V Mohill
On Sunday last the Under 16 Melvin Gaels team travelled to Mohill and came away with a great win.
Mohill started well and got the first point but Melvin Gaels the scored eight points without reply.
The Mohill goalkeeper pulled off some great saves to keep Melvin Gaels at bay and he also saved a penalty. The Half-time score was Mohill 0-2 Melvin Gaels 0-8.
Mohill started the second half brightly and scored two early points Melvin Gaels responded with four points. This left the score 0-13 to 0-4 entering the final quarter
Mohill then needed goals and they got two in the space of three minutes and it was game on again. Melvin Gaels kept on playing football and tagged on another four points to leave the final score Mohill 2-5 Melvin Gaels 0-17.
This was a great display by these youngsters and well done to the men in charge- Damien Foy and Michael Mc Gowan.

This was a fine start by the Under 16 team and their next game is against Carrigallen on Sunday next at 5pm in Kinlough.
