Club Notes 30th October 2004

Game - Senior League V Mohill
Mohill were the visitors to Melvin Park last Saturday evening. The game was played in glorious sunshine and the Gaels finished easy winners on a scoreline of 2-11 to 0-5.

The Mohioll team started well and went into a four ponts to two lead early in the first half. The Gael then scored a goal and two points and finished the half ahead by four points. In the second half the Gaels dominated and too some good scores.

This was a good team performance and should help some of the younger players in particular.

The Melvin Gaels team and scorers was : Gareth Phelan, Padraig Mc Gloin, James Phelan, Matt Connolly, Paul Mc Gurran(0-1), Fabian Mc Morrow, Colm Mc Gowan, Martin Mc Carron, Colin Regan(1-0)Joseph Mc Gowan, Daniel Branley (0-1), BB Brennan(0-3), Tomas Lipsett, Liam Gilmartin(0-1)David Mc Sharry(1-6)

Subs: Paul Mc Gowan, Damien Sheridan, Fergal Mc Gowan, Joe Tiffoney and Adam Regan.

Thanks to The Village Inn for providing food after the game.

The Gaels next Match is away to Bornacoola and this is fixed for next Sunday.


Melvin Gaels Lotto
The numbers drawn in last weeks lotto draw held in Gilmartins Wellington Bar were :

4, 5, 18 and 24. There was no Jackpot winner.

Other winners were €40 Pete Mc Gowan, Kinlough,€20 each Theresa Condron, Mill Rd Kinlough, Colm Mc Gowan C/O Brendan Mc Gowan, Drumacrin, Bundoran and Aiden Mc Aleer, 5 Manor Grove, Kinlough.

50th Anniversary Celebrations
A function to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Melvin Gaels GAA Club is being held in the Great Northern Hotel Bundoran on Friday December 3.

This promises to be a memorable night for the Club and tickets will be going on sale shortly. Tickets will be €30 each. There will be a Four course meal and music will be by the local band Superfreaks.

Micheáil O Muirachairtaigh , well known radio commentator and GAA personality will be guest of honour.

A booklet is at present being prepared and it is hoped to have it ready for the night of the function.

Any individual or business that would like to have an advertisement in the Commemoration Booklet should contact any club member as soon as possible.

 

Meeting
There will be a Club Meeting on Wednesday night at 9pm.
