Club Notes 24th October 2004
50th Anniversary Celebrations
A function to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Melvin Gaels GAA Club is being
held in the Great Northern Hotel Bundoran on Friday December 3.
This promises to be a memorable night for the Club and tickets will be going on
sale shortly. Tickets will be €30 each. There will be a Four course meal and
music will be by the local band Superfreaks.
Micheáil O Muirachairtaigh , well known radio commentator and GAA personality
will be guest of honour.
A booklet is at present being prepared and it is hoped to have it ready for the
night of the function.
Any individual or business who would like to have an advertisement in the
Commemoration Booklet should contact any club member as soon as possible.
Meeting
There will be a Club Meeting on Wednesday night at 9pm.
Senior League Match V Annaduff
Last Saturday evening the County Champions visited Kinlough. Melvin Gaels gave
them a big welcome and the players clapped the Annaduff team onto the field.
Melvin Gaels won this match by the narrowest of margins. Final score Melvin
Gaels 1-5 Annaduff 1-4.
This was a close encounter all through and both sides were guilty of blatant
misses.
Melvin Gaels missed a penalty and a number of very scorable frees while Annaduff
went very close to scoring a goal on two occasions and missed a number of frees,
particularly in the first half.
Melvin Gaels were the better side in the second half and were leading by four
points up until the last kick of the game when Annaduff scored their goal :
