Club Notes 15th November 2004
Under 21 B Championship Final
The Melvin Gaels Under 21 team travel to Carrick on Shannon next Saturday where
they take on Drumkeerin in the B Championship Final. The game takes place at
1.15pm.
It would be nice to see a good Kinlough support for the young lads.
Most of these players have a good lot of experience at Senior level and Melvin
Gaels will be looking for these players to repeat last years great performance.
Good luck to Gareth and the lads.
Senior Game v St Mary's
There was a disappointing end to the Senior League for Melvin Gaels last Sunday
in Melvin Park. St Mary's beat them on a scoreline of 1-9 to 0-5.
The Gaels started off well in this game and were on top for a good part of the
first half.
In the second half St Marys took control and finished stronger and were
deserving winners.
The Gaels made a great recovery in the League, winning their previous three
games, and survived in Division 1A, when it looked at one stage as if they would
not have achieved this.
Thanks to Gareth Phelan and to Joe Tiffoney for their work with the Senior team
over the year. Thanks also to Seanie McEniff for his work early in the year.
A word of thanks also to the players who put in such a great effort over the
year, some of them travelling long distances, sometimes at short notice, and
some others who were contacted on the morning of the game and made the effort to
turn up.
The Seniors can only now look forward to 2005 and hopefully all players will
give 100% commitment to the Club and put Melvin Gaels back where they should be
– one of the top Clubs in Leitrim.
The Melvin Gaels team and scorers on Sunday was; Aaron Phelan, Matt Connolly,

Congratulations
Congratulations to Mary and Pat Mc Gurran , Agharrow, Tullaghan who celebrated
their Golden wedding Anniversary recently. Mary and Pat are great Melvin Gaels
supporters and they were at Melvin Park on Sunday and no doubt Pat could tell
Melvin Gaels what mistakes were made on the day.
I remember Mary saying after a game in Manorhamilton a few years back, when the
Gaels were beaten,” I think the biggest problem for Kinlough is that its too
close to Bundoran “ – you can draw your own conclusions as to what she meant by
that.
