Club Notes 8th November 2004
Game Senior League V Bornacoola
The Gaels senior team made the long journey to Dromod on Sunday afternoon to
play Bornacoola and came away with a victory. The Gaels put on a spirited
performance and came out winners on a scoreline of 0-11 to 0-9.This was a close
game with some good football played by both teams. Overall it was an
entertaining game and I would say Bornacoola will rue some missed chances, but
the Gaels missed a few good chances particularly a great goal chance in the
first minute.
As result of this win the Gaels now have one game left in the league against St
Mary's next Sunday in Melvin Park and if they win this they are in the League
semi-final, something that looked impossible a few weeks ago.
The Melvin Gaels team and scorers was: Gareth Phelan, Matt Connolly, James
Phelan, Padraig Mc Gloin, Colm Mc Gowan, Joe Tiffoney (0-2), Adam Regan, Peter
Mc Gloin, Martin Mc Carron (0-1), Paul Mc Gurran (0-1), Damien Sheridan,
Paul Mc Gowan, Thomas Lipsett (0-1), BB Brennan (0-1), David Mc Sharry (0-4)

Thanks to the Bornacoola club for arranging sandwiches after the game.
