Club Notes 26th April 2004

Melvin Gaels V Allen Gaels

The Senior team took on Allen Gaels in a Senior Leagure game in Bundoran last Saturday evening, the Kinlough Gaels were beaten on a scoreline of 1-8 to 0-13.

There was some excellent football played by both these teams and it turned out to be a very close and entertaining game.

Melvin Gaels played their best football in the first half looked as if they would come out winners.  In the second half Allen Gaels looked much stronger and possibly their more experience told in the end.  Nevertheless, Melvin Gaels have played a lot worse than this and have won games.

Even though Melvin Gaels have lost their first two senior league games they are playing some good football and will no doubt soon produce the goods.

The Melvin Gaels team and scorers was:

Gareth phelan, Matt Connolly, James Phelan, Fergal Mc Gowan, Colm Mc Gowan, Fabian Mc Morrow, Matthew Mc Gloin, Colin Regan, Brendan Brennan (0-2),Thomas Lipsett, Damien Sheridan, Paul Mc Gurran, David Gillespie, Martin Mc Carron (0-4) Michael Tiffoney (1-0)

Subs: Gareth Foley (0-1), Padraig Mc Gloin, Paul Lipsett (0-1), Joe Mc Gowan, Simon Foley, David Mc Sharry..

The Melvin Gaels Club would like to thank the Bundoran Club for the use of their facilities. The playing pitch is a credit to all concerned.

It was nice to see injured players such as Stephen Clancy and Daniel Branley  giving their support to the team on Saturday.
